Former contenders for the NPP running mate position, Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and MP for Assin Central, Ken Agyapong sent NPP faithful in the Ashanti Regional capital into an ecstatic mood as they mounted the campaign trail together in an expression of unity.
Ken Agyapong who lost to Dr. Bawumia in the epic primary last November, had in recent times made comments some party faithful deemed uncomfortable with indications that he was not going to join Dr. Bawumia’s campaign.
But the outspoken politician’s presence in the entourage that stormed the Ashanti Regional capital sent a signal of calmness and unity as the party braces up for the December election, many believe, the NPP is not in a good position to win considering the challenging economic times the country is currently facing.
Ken Agyapong in his remarks urged the electorate to vote for Dr. Bawumia stressing that the challenging economic conditions the country was facing was the result of global economic challenges, for which even developed countries such as the US were no exception.
