My husband did not die of poisoning – John Kumah’s wife

Wife of late Deputy Minister of Finance, Apostle Mrs Lilian Kumah, says her husband was not poisoned to death as being speculated by sections of the Ghanaian media.

According to Apostle Mrs Kumah her husband battled a terminal illness until his death last week.

In an interview on Asaase Radio, Mrs. Kumah who is General Overseer of Disciples of Christ Ministries stated that the poisoning speculations by persons, such as Captain Smart were “exacerbating the pain of his immediate family and the larger Kumah family”.

She said the police should take swift action against persons making speculations that the husband was poisoned.

According to Mrs. Kumah, her husband was diagnosed as far back in August but had endured the pain throughout. His motto in life was that “we don’t do what is convenient, we do what we are commanded to do”.

“I was part of the medical team both in Germany and here. No one told me he was poisoned. I have medical reports here both from Germany and Ghana. No one mentioned poison. I am a pastor, I will not lie about the cause of my husband’s death. If someone had poisoned my husband I would like to know the person. As far as I am concerned, my husband was sick. If anybody knows anything, I want to know,” she stated.
