GMA to go ahead with strike?
The Ghana Medical Association (GMA) has served notice that it may still go ahead with its intended Strike action despite the withdrawal by Rock City of its bid to buy 60 percent of shares in four hotels owned by SSNIT.
However, it is unclear whether with the termination of the deal by SSNIT following Rock City’s withdrawal, the Association will still go ahead with its Strike action.
General Secretary of the Ghana Medical Association, Dr. Richard Selormey had earlier told the media that the decision of the GMA to withdraw its services would not be affected by Rock City’s withdrawal.
According to the GMA, the idea is to seek a total cancellation of any plan to sell off 60 percent of the shares in the hotels, and it is not only about the withdrawal of Rock City.
the Association says SSNIT must come clear on the policy as another company may emerge to take up the 60 percent of the shares in the hotels.
