Save our hearts, King Charles begs Three Lions
England’s Three Lions will be yearning to lift the European Cup after the last tournament’s painful loss to Italy.
The stars of England had been tipped as one of the tournament’s favourites alongside the likes of the other finalist, Spain and 2022 FIFA World Cup finalists, France.
But the team took off to a slow start despite topping their Group with one win and two draws and scrapping through the knock out stages in tensed victories.
King Charles III in a message to the team ahead of the finals congratulated the team on the feat, and urged them not to stress English soccer fans.
“My wife and I join all our family in wishing you the warmest congratulations on reaching the final of the U.E.F.A. European Championship – and in sending our very best wishes for Sunday’s match.
“If I may encourage you to secure victory before the need for any last minute wonder-goals or another penalties drama, I am sure the stresses on the nation’s collective heart rate and blood pressure would be greatly alleviated!
“Good luck, England”, the King wrote.
England secured a late victory against Netherlands when at 1:1, substitute Ollie Watkins scored in the 90th minute to send them into the finals.
