SSNIT terminates hotels deal with Rock City
SSNIT has terminated the much criticised deal to sell off 60 percent of the shares in four hotels it owns to Rock City Hotel owned by MP for Abetifi and Minister for Food and Agriculture, Dr. Bryan Acheampong.
A statement from SSNIT signed by the Board Chairman, Elizabeth Akua Ohene announced the termination hours after Rock City had indicated that it was withdrawing its bid to buy the 60 percent interest in the bid.
The withdrawal and the termination of the deal many believe was intended to avert a looming labour crisis after the Trades Union Congress directed all public workers to stay home from work from Monday, July 15, 2024 following the approval of the National Pensions Regulatory Authority’s directive to SSNIT to proceed with the deal.
