Trump attacker identified
A 20-year man who was shot and killed by secret service agents has been identified as the gunman who shot at the rally of former US President and Republican Presidential Candidate at a rally over the weekend.
Thomas Matthew Crooks, a kitchen worker who had resided in the affluent neighbourhood of Bethel Park, according to security officers was armed with a semi-automatic AR-15 rifle, and opened fire at the former president while he was addressing a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, leaving one audience member dead and two others wounded.
Thomas has been described by former classmates as a loner and quiet person who graduated from the Bethel Park High School and won maths and science prize, according to local media.
According to voter records, he is registered as a Republican and had a membership of a local shooting club for at least a year.
The gun used was believed to be owned by his father, and so far there are no clear motives for his action.
