We’ve fulfilled 80 percent of our promises, Mahama fulfilled just 28 percent – Bawumia
The presidential candidate of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia says the NPP has fulfilled 80 percent of its promises in their 2020 manifesto.
He claimed that on the contrary, the NDC fulfilled just about 28 percent of its promises in their 2012 manifesto, prior to the 2016 general elections.
He made these claims when he answered questions from the media in Accra today.
“I think that we have a very pretty record in terms of honouring our promises. We’ve done some work to look at our 2016 manifesto, and what proportion of those manifestos we’ve honoured, and 83 percent have been honoured. And when you look at the 2020 manifesto, 2020, even in the midst of all these crises, we are fulfilling or we’ve fulfilled 80 percent of our 2020 promises in our manifesto,” he claimed.
The NPP presidential candidate’s media engagement on the day after the NPP launched its manifesto has been described by some political analysts as a deliberate attempt to dim the media spotlight on the NDC manifesto.
The NDC manifest has been described by some political analysts as a masterpiece with wide ranging policies that the party says will reset the country and place it on the path of economic recovery.
But Dr. Bawumia countered in his media engagement with the claim that the country needs an upgrade not resetting.
“I represent the future, Ghana needs an upgrade, not a reset. I have also outlined my 14 key commitments to the Ghanaian people. These are to sustain and expand Ghana’s rebounding economy, create new jobs, implement wide-ranging tax reforms, and build Ghana into a world-class digital economy,” he jabbed.
