Teenager causes fatal accident killing two

Fire service personnel at East Legon accident scene

A 16-year-old son of  Archbishop Salifu Amoako,Erald Amoako, has caused a tragic accident around a T-junction at East Legon resulting in the death of two women and severe injuries of others on Saturday, October 13th.

A CCTV footage showed the speeding Jaguar vehicle which was being driven by Erald crashed into an Acura car, colliding with a security post and an electric pole.
The impact caused the electric pole to break, resulting in a fire that engulfed the two cars and
the building.

Assistant Division Officer, Alex King Nartey of the Ghana national fire service stated in a live video of the scene on Facebook that the accident between the two cars caused the ladies to ‘burn without recognition’.
Elrad and one other person were able to escape and are currently receiving medical treatment.

Local residents and drivers of water tankers stepped in to help extinguish the fire before the
arrival of firefighters, preventing further spread.

An eyewitness who is a security guard at MEA Catering Gh Ltd speaking on Ghana web Tv
indicated that fire service delayed for more than 2 hours but they blamed the delay on traffic
around Madina.
He went on to criticize the lack of a fire station in the area, which contributed to the delayed
response of emergency services.

It is alleged that Erald was attending his elder brother’s birthday party. It was also observed he was speeding that in a snap video posted by him driving the same car.
