Akua Donkor’s running mate set to be named presidential candidate

Reports reaching Nsem360 indicate that Philip Kwabena Agyemang, the running mate of the late Akua Donkor is set to be out-doored as the new Presidential Candidate of the Ghana Freedom Party.

Philip Agyemang popularly referred to as Roman Father, confirmed his selection as the candidate of the party in an interview with local radio station Atinka FM.

The radio personality said since he had been the running mate, the executives of the party after extensive discussions and consultations have selected him as the presidential candidate. There has, however, been no formal communication from the party, yet, and he has also not announced who will be his running mate.

This puts to rest concerns over possible disagreements over the positions on the ballot paper after the NDC served notice that they would reject any attempt to automatically rearrange positions on the ballot following the death of Madam Akua Donkor.

Following the death of Madam Akua Donkor, the Electoral Commission (EC) suspended printing of the ballot papers and gave the party 10 days to nominate a new candidate.
