A viral video from yesterday has sparked controversy after a security guard criticized Hon. Lydia Alhassan, the NPP candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon. In the video, the guard shows a bag of rice and oil, reportedly given by the candidate, and expresses his dissatisfaction.
“Maa Lydia gave me these things. For the past eight years, I have not received anything from her, even though I am in this constituency. I vote at Balashi,” he said.
“That is politics for you. I can’t take this thing and vote for you. Sorry if you think because of this you’ve bought my vote, my vote is not coming to you,” he added.
Today, another video surfaced showing the same security guard being escorted by a group of men. This has led to allegations that he was illegally detained for exposing the campaign tactics of Hon. Lydia Alhassan. The situation has ignited discussions about vote-buying and intimidation tactics ahead of the upcoming elections.
