Mahama to win 2024 Elections – Global InfoAnalytics predicts
By Joyce Kpeglo
Global InfoAnalytics has predicted a victory for former president and the flagbearer of National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, John Dramani Mahama in the 2024 presidential elections.
The firm’s latest research predicts that Mahama will secure 52.2% of the vote, positioning him ahead of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who is expected to win 41.4% of the vote.
In the parliamentary race, the NDC is also projected to emerge as the dominant party, with an estimated 150 seats. The NPP is forecasted to win 99 seats, while one seat is expected to go to an independent candidate.
Additional projections show Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten receiving 2.5% of the vote, Nana Kwame Bediako with 3.0%, and other candidates collectively securing 0.9%. The margin of error for this analysis is ±1.8%, with a projected voter turnout of 77.6%.
Regionally, Mahama is expected to win in 10 regions, including Greater Accra, Central, Volta, and Northern regions. On the other hand, Dr. Bawumia is likely to win in the Ashanti, Eastern, Ahafo, and North East regions, among others.
These regional predictions suggest a significant shift in parliamentary representation, with the NDC consolidating gains in its traditional strongholds while challenging the NPP in areas previously dominated by them.
The report highlights the key issues driving voter preferences, such as economic concerns, job creation, and public service delivery.
Global InfoAnalytics released its findings just days before the December 7 general elections, with its predictions reflecting a base-case scenario.
However, the firm also offered alternate models, suggesting that Mahama’s support could range from 50.4% to 54.1%, depending on final voter turnout and the number of undecided voters.
This comprehensive analysis offers a snapshot of the evolving political landscape as Ghana prepares for her 2024 elections.
