Ghanaian dancehall star Stonebwoy has revealed that his hit song ‘Jiggle and Whine’ was created to raise awareness about breast cancer. The track, featuring Jamaican dancehall queen Spice, was released in October, aligning with Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
In an interview on Hitz FM, Stonebwoy explained the purpose behind the song’s release. “It’s for breast cancer awareness because it was released in October,” he said. The accompanying social media dance challenge, popular among young women, is also part of this campaign. “The challenge is an exercise for women who haven’t stretched their back in a long time,” he added.
The song, taken from his UP&RUNNIN6 album released on October 24, 2024, has gained traction online, with Stonebwoy emphasizing its impact: “It has made most of our women very happy. It’s for edutainment and it’s so beautiful.”
Moreover, as elections approach, Stonebwoy also disclosed that he has been approached by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to perform at their campaign rally. He stated that discussions are ongoing regarding his involvement. “There’s one call from the NDC now. We’re checking on the money level, and if it goes well, I’ll perform to my fans,” he revealed.
He emphasized that his participation in any political event would focus on promoting peace. “When you see me on any platform, I’m performing for peace, whether NPP, NDC, CPP. We are all one Ghana. Ghana must win in the end.”
