God appoints leaders, don’t bulldoze your way into power – Otumfuo advises politicians

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has cautioned political aspirants not to attempt to bulldoze their way into power as that will not bode well for them.

“If God has not chosen you as the leader, and you use force and unfair manipulations it will not bode well for you,” he admonished politicians, when the NDC Presidential Candidate, John Mahama visited him at the Manhyia Palace to seek his blessings.

“The law says that after four years we should have elections to decide who the leader should be. If you think you have a vision for the people, let them know what your vision is and let Ghanaians decide,” Otumfuo said.

“It is my prayer that the elections will go smoothly and the truth would prevail,” the Asantehene stated.

He said the country had instituted laws to guide its democratic practices, and noted that electoral activities at the polling station were very critical as that is where the votes are cast and where the power begins.

He added that there should be no fights at the polling stations stressing that ultimately God’s will should be established.
