President John Dramani Mahama has officially sworn in six new ministers to lead critical sectors of government, emphasizing their roles in driving Ghana’s progress.
The swearing-in ceremony, held at the Jubilee House on January 22, came a day after their approval by Parliament following rigorous vetting by the Appointments Committee.
The newly sworn-in ministers are Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson as Minister for Finance, Dr. Dominic Ayine as Attorney General, John Jinapor as Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Haruna Iddrisu as Minister for Education, Eric Opoku as Minister for Food and Agriculture, and Governs Kwame Agbodza as Minister for Roads and Highways.
President Mahama emphasized the significance of their portfolios, noting that these roles are vital to addressing key national challenges such as economic stability, sustainable energy, education reforms, and infrastructure development.
He expressed confidence in their ability to deliver results that would directly impact the lives of Ghanaians.
In his remarks, the President reiterated his commitment to maintaining a lean and efficient government, capping ministerial appointments at 60, including deputy ministers.
“We are building an administration focused on delivering for the people. Each appointment reflects the strategic priorities of this government,” he stated.
The President also assured citizens of his unwavering dedication to serving their interests, saying, “This government is here to serve at the pleasure of Ghanaians, and our efforts will remain rooted in transparency, accountability, and progress for all.”
These appointments are set to aid in advancing the government’s development agenda.
