NPP presidential aspirants to meet Prof Oquaye Committee

Ing Francis Addai-Nimoh (L), Boakye Agyako (M) and Ken Agyapong (R)
The Professor Mike Oquaye Committee that is probing the reasons for the NPP’s disastrous performance in 2024 elections is set to meet some presidential aspirants who contested in the NPP Presidential primary for the 2024 election, later this month.
Sources close to the Committee told Concord News that the measure forms part of efforts to get all key personalities to make worthy contributions to help understand the factors that led to the party’s poor performance in the elections.
Sources indicate that the persons invited include, Boakye Agyarko, Ing. Francis Addai-Nimoh, Ing. Kwabena Agyapong, Dr Konadu Apraku, Ken Agyapong and Dr Akoto Osei.
The Committee is expected to present its Report after the first quarter of this year and it is expected that the final report will be presented to the Party by the end of April.
Conspicuously missing is the flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, and there are no indications as to why they were not invited to the meeting.
Some sources indicate that they may have been invited separately by the Committee to make their contributions.
There have been concerns in the party following the release of highlights of a Report said to have been commissioned by the Ashanti Regional Branch of the Party under the leadership of Chairman Wontumi.
Former Majority Leader, Kyei Mensa Bonsu who is said to have chaired the Committee has been sharply rebuked by party insiders for absolving Dr. Bawumia of any liability in the election loss and rather praising him for saving the party from suffering a worse defeat in the elections.
But his views have been sharply rebutted by many party insiders and political analysts who have questioned the popularity of Dr. Bawumia after he failed to deliver even the Zongo communities for the party.
