NPP urges members to cease public discussion of internal issues

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called on its members to avoid airing internal grievances in the media to prevent disaffection and unrest within the party.
In a statement released on Thursday, March 20, the General Secretary of the party, Justin Kodua Frimpong, emphasized the importance of adhering to Article 10(7)(5) of the NPP Constitution, which mandates coordinated party activities. He urged members to immediately cease media discussions that could tarnish the party’s reputation or create divisions.
The statement also referenced Article 3(5) of the party’s Constitution, which obliges members to defend and promote the party’s good name. “Let us uphold the values of the NPP and work together to rebuild a stronger party for the future,” the statement read.
To ensure compliance, the party’s leadership at all levels—national, regional, and constituency—has been directed to refer violators of this directive to the appropriate disciplinary committees.
The NPP leadership reiterated its commitment to fostering unity and preparing the party to address future challenges effectively, urging members to remain focused on the party’s core principles and collaborative efforts.
This directive, issued following the party’s recent electoral defeat, aims to maintain unity and uphold the NPP’s values. Many party members have publicly expressed frustration over the loss, prompting the leadership to intervene.
