Kofi Sam Atta Mills has disclosed that his dad wanted him to become an economist and a lawyer while he was keen about being an engineer.
Kofi Sam who is now a chartered engineer said the disagreement over his career path, generated intense debate between the two of them but he was determined to prove his mettle as an engineer.
Speaking to Captain Smart on Onua Maakye, Kofi Sam said although he found it difficult to understand his dad then, he now appreciates his dad’s passion for economics and law now that he also has a son.
Sometimes, I take my son to my office and I just what him to get to know and appreciate what I do, he explained. Kofi Sam, despite the disagreement over his career path, said his late dad was very proud about his success and supported him immensely.
He recounted how his dad facilitated his return and employment in Ghana from the UK after his studies when the UK was facing some challenges.
He described his dad as an extra-ordinary person and said, he usually visits the Asomdwe Park with his children to pay respect to his late dad.
