Protect the ballot, be vigilant at polling stations – Mahama
Presidential Candidate of the NDC has asked voters to be vigilant and help the party to protect their votes in tomorrow’s elections.
Addressing teeming supporters of the party at the Zurak Park in Madina in the final rally before the election, John Mahama said, many people had asked him whether the party could protect their ballots but his reponse was that protecting the ballot was a shared responsibility.
He told voters to stay vigilant at polling stations to avoid their votes being stolen through underhand dealings.
“I have told Ghanaians that after voting if you have nothing doing just hang around, if you have something doing at home, go and do it and then return in the evening to vote. If you have a video camera take videos. We all have to open our eyes so that the elections with be strictly credible,” .
“This year we are not sleeping. After voting we will not all sleep until Jean Mensa declares me as the President of Ghana,” John Mahama stated, “by the grace of God it shall happen…indeed it has happened already.
I understand that they are sharing money, if they give you money take and spend it but vote wisely for the NDC.
He said the NPP has been exposed by their “poor leadership” and after being in power for eight years and they have nothing more to offer.
“Was I the one who said, we are sitting on wealth but we are hungry? Was I the one ho said if the fundamentals of the economy are weak, the exchange rate will expose you? Was I the one who said Ghanaians are suffering?” John Mahama asked.
He said the NPP should be booted out of power for what he described as “incompetent leadership” stressing that “when they saw as governing smoothly they thought it was easy but now they have been exposed,” he added.
