King Paluta can’t win Artiste of the Year – Ricky Tenneson

Veteran music pundit and executive Ricky Tenneson has tipped Afrobeat sensation King Promise to walk away with the coveted Artiste of the Year award at the upcoming Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), set to take place in May.Ghanaian fashion
Tenneson’s endorsement comes amidst fierce debate and anticipation surrounding this year’s lineup of nominees, which includes some of Ghana’s most prominent and hardworking acts.
Speaking on The Chat on Channel One TV on Saturday, April 5, Tenneson offered a detailed breakdown of why he believes King Promise stands out as the frontrunner among the seven shortlisted artistes.
According to him, while the race is undeniably competitive, the real battle narrows down to two major names — King Promise and Stonebwoy — both of whom have had an impressive run over the eligibility period.
Tenneson further elaborated that, contrary to the popular belief that rapper King Paluta is next in line after the top two contenders, his own analysis places Kweku Smoke and Team Eternity Ghana ahead of Paluta in terms of influence, reach, and measurable success during the year under review.
“When it comes to the Artiste of the Year category, it is two people. It is between King Promise and Stonebwoy. Even the third is actually Kweku Smoke and not King Paluta. Even the fourth is Team Eternity and not King Paluta.
“I don’t have anything against King Paluta, but I like to work with science and data a lot. It is even King Promise ahead of anybody. King Promise is the most nominated artiste and he has stayed consistent.”
